LAKKI MARWAT: A man was clubbed to death in Abdulkhel area in the limits of Shaheed Haibat Ali Khan police station of Darra Pezu town, police said on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Khamdullah Jan, a resident of Daulatkhel. Mohammad Latif told police that his brother Khamdullah Jan and his wife Nazar Bibi had gone to the house of their son-in-law Inamullah in Abdulkhel area to bring their daughter Abida Bibi, the wife of Inamullah, back to their house.

He said that Naqibullah, Kiramatullah, Fareed and Sajid came out of the house and beat his brother with a club, inflicting a serious head injury on him. He said that Khamdullah died while being shifted to hospital. He said that his family had a women-related dispute with the attackers.

Also, a teenager identified as Sanaullah was shot dead and his uncle Gul Rehman was injured over enmity in Mela Mandrakhel area of Lakki Marwat.

Police registered a case against their rivals Salaman and Hazrat Bilal.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Murad Khan on Monday formed a special investigation team to probe the killing of former police official Shah Sawar Khan.

An official said that DSP Shahi Bakht would head the team. Other members of the team include City police station SHO Imran Khan, investigation officer Gul Janan Khan and Additional SHO Ghulam Saboor Khan.

“The investigation team will conduct an impartial probe into the murder of the former policeman and submit its report to local police authorities on a daily basis,” he said.
