Badar Express escapes accident

TOBA TEK SINGH, June 13: Badar Express escaped an accident when railway staff caught a youth trying to open fish plates of the Toba-Gojra track near Siddiq Park on Monday night.

Usman Malik along with an accomplice was trying to open fish plates when railway staff, on information, overpowered him. His accomplice, however, managed to escape.

Usman is stated to be an addict.

THEFT: Thieves took away cash, gold ornaments and valuables worth Rs500,000 from the house of the National Labour federation district president in the Housing Colony here on Tuesday.

Majeed Salik and his family were not at home when the thieves barged into the house and made off with the valuables.

UNCONSCIOUS: Eight members of a family became unconscious on Monday night after taking poisonous meal in Chak 319-GB near Pirmahal.

All family members Qasim, Azam, Tahir, Rafiq, Shahid, Salma, Saima and Saadia were taken to hospital where the condition of Tahir and Saadia was stated to be critical.
