PESHAWAR, June 13: The Awami National Party (ANP) on Tuesday called upon the government to end the military operation in tribal areas forthwith and resolve issues through negotiations and jirgas.
Describing the continuing bloodshed and lawlessness as a conspiracy hatched by anti-Pukhtun elements, ANP’s additional general secretary Afrasiab Khattak said his party would not leave tribesmen alone at this critical juncture.
He charged that some tribal areas had been turned into militants’ bases under a ‘policy’ to destroy peace and stability in Afghanistan.
