SARGODHA: Four persons, impersonating health officers, entered the Maryam Nawaz Health Centre in Sargodha and harassed women and staff, demonstrating hooliganism.

According to sources, one Zia Aziz, along with his accomplices, posed as a fake health officer and conducted inspections at the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic, Sobhaga.

An FIR was registered with Shah Nikdar Police Station four days after the incident on the report of the manager of the health clinic, Dr Ansar Zahoor. However, despite the fact that the main suspect’s face was clearly recognisable in the CCTV footage, the police were reluctant to arrest him.

It is learnt that health staff reported the matter late as the identified person was politically influential in the area.

The police are investigating the incident .

RAPE: The prayer leader of a mosque at Chak No 3-NB Bhalwal raped a 14-year-old boy.

According to details, the victim’s uncle in his application to the police said he was a labourer. He was at his cousin’s house at Zahoor Hayat Colony, Bhalwal, when his nephew came to him and told him that the Maulana had raped him and when he tried to shout, the suspect put his hand on the victim’s mouth and issued him death threat.

Bhalwal police have registered a case, arrested the suspect and started investigation.

CONVOCATION: The University of Sargodha will hold its 12th convocation from Jan 26 to 28.

Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider would preside over the first day of convocation.Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas said all necessary arrangements had been finalised for the convocation.
