NAROWAL: Faiz Ahmed Faiz Park has been upgraded as part of the city beautification plan to increase healthy activities and provide best facilities to the citizens.
Narowal Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Tayyab Khan told Dawn that on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, work is underway to provide healthy activities to the citizens.
Located on Narowal-Shakargarh Road, the entrance and exit routes of the park have been decorated with beautiful plants and attractive coloured lights.
He said there is a one kilometer long walking track for the citizens in the park. He said the track is spacious and made of international standards. Even children and women do not feel tired while walking on the track. He said modern technology tools have been installed in the park for exercise.
A small zoo has also been built for children in the park. Various animals in the zoo are becoming a centre of interest for children and women.
He said a beautiful fountain has been installed in the middle of the park and a model of dolphin fish has been installed. He said electric and manual swings have also been installed in the park for families.
The DC said citizens can relish boat ride in the park, access internet along with availability of quality refreshments at controlled rates.
Local residents Muhammad Hanan and Qamar Zaman have praised the transformation, saying the park’s cleanliness can be compared with major metropolitan cities.
The DC said work is underway on other projects under the city beautification plan.
