SUKKUR, June 12: The Election Commission has finalised all arrangements for preparing new electoral rolls for the general election to be held 2007. An official press release of the commission said on Monday that a door-to-door campaign would be started from the second week of July 2006 to prepare the official list.

The deputy election commissioner (field), Sukkur, has advised people attaining the age of 18 years on Jan 1,2006, and possessing computerised national identity cards issued by the National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) to enlist their names in the electoral rolls.

If they have not get their computerised NICs, they have been advised to contact Nadra for the purpose. Without CNIC, no entry could be made in the computerized electoral rolls.

The chief election commissioner has directed the Nadra authorities to expedite issuance of CNICs to the people who have attained 18 years of age and applied for the card.
