10 dead, 21 injured in fog-related accidents across Punjab

TOBA TEK SINGH: Ten people died and 21 were injured in accidents in various districts of Punjab on Tuesday.

Four persons died and as many were critically injured in a collision between a bus, a car and a motorcycle near Kamalia Sugar Mills on Toba-Chichawatni Road on Tuesday.

Rescue 1122 said the bus, which was going to Faisalabad from Chichawatni, overtook several sugarcane-laden tractor-trolleys on the road and hit the car coming from the opposite side due to high speed. At the same time, a motorcyclist who was present on the road also got hit by the bus.

The deceased included Muhammad Mansha (40), his wife Mumtaz Parveen (40) and daughter Mahnoor (16), residents of Vehari and Muhammad Faiz (45), a resident of Chak 266-GB, Toba Tek Singh. The injured included Mansha’s two sons Bilal (20), Hassan (8) and an unidentified woman who was about 60. Rescue ambulances shifted all the injured and deceased to the DHQ Hospital, Toba Tek Singh.

Four persons were critically injured after a truck hit a pick-up from its rear side on the Faisalabad Road in Jhang.

Rescue officials said a poultry pick-up was parked on the road after it broke down in foggy conditions. Meanwhile, while saving the pick-up, the truck hit the van. The injured have been shifted to Jhang DHQ Hospital.

They were identified as Ali Raza (13), Saima Abid (40), Azra Parveen (35) and Mujtaba (7).

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Three persons died while 10 were injured in a collision between a truck and a car near Bhaban on the Indus Highway.

The accident occurred as the car, traveling from Rahim Yar Khan to Multan, and the truck crashed due to dense foggy conditions.

Rescue shifted the injured to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Taunsa Sharif .

OKARA: During the thick fog, three persons were killed while as many others were injured in separate road incidents in the district.

As per Rescue 1122, a mini-bus hit a car at Ghala Mandi Link Dipalpur-Pakpattan Road. As a result, two car riders, including Mubasharul Haq from Hujra Shah Muqeem, died while Imran, a resident of Green Town, Lahore, suffered injuries.

In another incident on the Pipli Pehar-Diya Ram Road, two motorcyclists were hit by a tractor-trolley. One of them, Zain, died on impact while his fellow, Azhar Wazir, a resident of Sadiqabad received injuries.

The deceased as well as the injured were shifted to THQ hospital Dipalpur.

GUJRAT: Seven people were critically injured in a multi-vehicle accident involving two speeding cars and a motorbike near Dhunni Stop on the Kharian-Dinga Road.

The injured included Raheem, 22, Hamza, 21, Wajahat, 21, Rahat, Mubashir, 19, Raheela, 45, and seven-year-old Faiq.

Rescue officials said three rescue vehicles were used in the operation as three of the injured, including the woman and a child, were shifted to Kharian Tehsil Headquarters Hospital whereas four others were shifted to Kharian Combined Military Hospital.
