TOBA TEK SINGH: A man died and seven were injured in separate road accidents caused by thick fog and low visibility on Monday.

Five car riders were injured when their car collided with a roadside tractor-trolley laden with sugarcane near Chak 389-JB on the Jhang Road of Toba Tek Singh.

The injured, including Abdul Ghafoor (45), his wife Nida Mubina (35) and daughter Muntiha (2), were shifted to Toba DHQ Hospital.

In another fog-related accident near Jehangir Mor on Samundri Road, Faisalabad, a truck driver was crushed to death by a bus on the roadside.

Rescue 1122 report said Ghulam Muhayuddin (26) was standing alongside his out-of-order truck when the bus ran him over and he died on the spot.

In the third accident, a car rammed into a tractor-trolley in thick fog on Darkhana Road, tehsil Pirmahal.

The tractor-trolley had broken down and was parked on the road. As a result, two car riders, Allah Ditta (65) and his daughter-in-law Maria Nawaz (35), were seriously wounded. They were shifted to the Pirmahal THQ Hospital.

FIRE: Five members of a family, including three children, were critically burnt in a fire at their house on Naqvi Shah Road of Mansoorabad locality of Faisalabad.

The fire started with the electric heater in which a cloth was stuck and caught fire that soon engulfed the entire room late Sunday night.

Rescue 1122 staffers controlled the fire and shifted all of them to Allied Hospital’s burn unit.

Those burnt were identified as Muhammad Yasin (32), his wife Sadia (26), two sons Hamza (5) and Abdul Ghani (4-month) and daughter Yashfa (3).

MURDER: Unidentified person(s) murdered a woman at her home near Nestle Milk Factory, Kabirwlala, Khanewal.

Rescue 1122 and police officials said Saima Ijaz (35) was alone at her house when someone entered and fled after shooting her dead. Her body was shifted to THQ Hospital Kabirwala.
