KARACHI, June 12: Over a dozen ships carrying urea, coal and to load ethanol and naphtha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Owing to active berthing and sailing, the total tonnage soared to a record level of 0.176m tons comprising 35,517 tons of export cargo and 0.141m tons of import cargo including 7,318 tons of sugar.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a dozen ships were berthed to clear the backlog of foreign ships. They are: Golden Express, Swat, Al-Marwah and Stolt Advance, oil tankers, Hanjin Busan, Wah Hai-302, Globe Prince, Ever Guide and Maersk Alabama, to unload and load containers, Shotu and Persepolis, to offload and load general cargo and D.D. Master to offload fertiliser.

Sailing was also active as a dozen ships departed after loading and uloading various commodities: They were Mol Silver Fern, Iran Shahryar, Thore Captain, Hanjin Busan, Wan Hai-302, Global Prince, Golden Express, Clementine, Global Union, Sea Rose, Kardaran Star, Al-Marwah, Swat and Sunniva.While Stolt Avance, Ever Guide and Pacific Sun-2 are due to depart on Tuesday after loading various commodities and containers.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Sun Lavender, to load ethanol, Rising One, to load naphtha, Corin Thaikos, APL Osak, Y.M.Moon, Bunga Kenari, Sinar Bontang, Kota Teraju, Satha Bum, with containers, Batu, with urea, Jin Ace, with coal, Johar with crude oil and Din Queen, with general cargo.

The following ships arrived on Sunday: Hyde Parke, with tallow, PAC Antlia, with containers, Carolina, with 12,000 tons of sugar and Pacific Express, with steel and general cargo.
