SAHIWAL: Flour prices have sharply increased in Sahiwal within the last couple of days, causing concern among the consumers here.

As per consumers and market sources, the price of flour has suddenly increased by around 30 percent in the city within just 3-4days.

They say that one kilogram of flour was being sold at Rs95–Rs100, but its price has now surged to Rs 130–Rs135 per kilogram within a couple of days without any official notification from the government.

Hafiz Waheed, a local consumer, complained that the flour prices had risen suddenly without any intimation or notice from the provincial or district administration.

He says that a 15-kg bag of flour is currently being sold in the open market at Rs1,850, adding to the financial burden on the consumers without any justification.
