FAISALABAD, June 11: PPP Punjab secretary-general Rana Aftab Ahmed Khan has said the government has failed to save life and property of the people and police officials have been deputed to perform personal duties of the governor and the chief minister.
Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, he said the robbery incidence was on the rise while police commandos had been deputed as bodyguards of ministers, advisers, chief minister and the governor.
He said in Thikriwala village of his constituency, bandits struck nine strikes in just one hour and managed to escape because the entire police of the district were allegedly on duty with the Punjab governor who was visiting Faisalabad on Saturday night.
The PPP leader said he had tried to contact the area DSP, DPO and even the additional IG of Faisalabad but no one was available. —Staff Correspondent
