Four villages inundated

SUKKUR, June 11: Four villages and 500 acres of land came under water when a 50-foot-wide breach occurred in Narlee Minor near Daharki in the Ghotki district on Saturday evening.

Chaudary Mohammad Arshad, Dhani Bux Shar, Akbar Shar and Ghuno Shar villages were inundated by flood water. Standing crop worth millions of rupees was damaged.

Area people told journalists they had been complaining to officials of the irrigation department about the weak canal embankment but they had paid no heed.—Correspondent
