SWABI: A man and his sonwere killed and four other people of their family were injured, including three children, when a person forced his way into their house before midnight.

The victim family was living in Kunda Village, Tehsil Chota Lahor, though they hailed from Kumrat valley, an area of Upper Dir district, said police.

The SHO of Chota Lahor city police station, Altaf Khan,told Dawn that the entire family was sleeping when the unidentified accused entered their house.

When contacted, Luqman Khan, a spokesperson of Rescue 1122 Swabi, said that soon after knowing about the incident two ambulancesalong with a medical team reached the spot immediately and provided first aid to the injured and shifted them to Bacha Khan Teaching Hospital Shahmansoor.

The police collected evidence from the crime scene, indicating that the man soon after he entered the house opened fire on them, as a result two persons identified as Juma Faqir, 60, and his son Abdur Rehman, 33, were killed on the spot. The injured were included Fatima Bibi, wife of deceased Abdur Rehman, 32, son Zeeshan Khan, 9, daughter Samra,6, and one-year-oldson Sudais Khan. The accused escapedafter committing crime.

Injured Fatima told police while registering an FIR that she was at home with her family and a man who was holding a pistol forced his way into their room and started firing on them.

She said that as a result her father-in-law and husband were killed on the spot and she along with her children was injured.

When contacted, DSP Tehsil Chota Lahor Muhammad Noman said that he had spoken to injured Fatima. “We are investigating the incident,” he said.

When contacted, spokesperson of Bacha Khan Hospital, Raham Yousafzai said that the condition of the children was critical because they were shot at from a close range. The Chota Lahor city police have registered an FIR and started investigation.

Meanwhile, in Maneri Payan, Karam Khel Mohallah, a man allegedly shot dead his brother.

The SHO Swabi city police station, Ajab Durrani, said that the cause of the incident was stated a domestic dispute and they had clashed with each other before the incident.

The deceased was identified as Rehman Zeb. Police have registered an FIR and started investigation. The accused has gone underground after committing crime.

AFGHAN SUCCUMS TO INJURIES: An Afghan national,identified as Sohail Khan, who was critically injured in an encounter with district police three days ago, succumbed to his injuriesin the hospitalon Wednesday.

Police said that thedeceased had first opened fire on police and later he did not stop when the police signaled him to do so. The officials the police retaliated and the youth was seriously injured. He was taken to Tehsil headquarters hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
