ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Committee on Privatisation (CCoP) on Tuesday endorsed the Rs135 billion bid of Arif Habib Corporation (AHC) led consortium for 75 per cent shares of PIA, and recommended its approval by the federal cabinet.

CCoP’s nod has now paved the way for the cabinet which is expected to meet in couple of days to approve the transaction. Fauji Fertilisers which abstained from the bidding process, has joined the AHC, and now it is expected that the consortium will negotiate with the Privatistion Commission for the remaining 25pc shares in PIA.
