LAHORE, June 9: A massive reshuffle is likely to be made in the Punjab cabinet after the presentation of the provincial budget, official sources said on Friday.

Changes in the cabinet were expected to be made around two months ago but they were delayed due to the overall political conditions in the country, the officials said.

They said the changes would be made in accordance with the PML government’s strategy for the next general elections.

Another factor would be the performance of the cabinet members in the standing committees and their record with regard to the running of their assigned departments.

Majority of the standing committees chairmen, advisers, parliamentary secretaries, and ministers would be changed. Their number could also be curtailed, they said.—INTIKHAB HANIF
