TOBA TEK SINGH, June 8: Motorcycle rickshaw drivers took out a rally on Thursday in protest against the insulting attitude of traffic police.

They parked their vehicles in Clock Tower Square near railway level crossing as a result of which traffic remained blocked for more than an hour.

A spokesman for Rickshaw Owners Association told journalists that traffic police fined them without any justification.

Later, drivers ended their protest and dispersed peacefully after talks between association office-bearers and traffic police officials .

INQUIRY ORDERED: DPO Akhtar Laleka ordered on Thursday Saddar DSP to hold an inquiry into the allegation of a motorcycle mechanic against Chuttiana police.

The complainant told the DPO in his open court that Chuttiana police station officials stopped him when he was on his way home and tortured him. They allowed him to go after extorting Rs4,500.
