KARACHI, June 7: An activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead, and his trussed up body was found in Landhi on Wednesday. Police said the body bore a bullet wound to his head, and the police shifted the body to Jinnah Hospital where he was identified as Lala Fakharuddin.
The victim was a resident of Zaman Town where three policemen came to his house and reportedly took him along.
In Shershah, a sugar trader was shot dead by unknown persons in what police described a target killing on Wednesday.
Police said Yousaf was going in his car when two persons on a motorcycle opened fire at him near the under-construction Lyari Expressway. He was rushed to Civil Hospital where he was pronounced dead by doctors, police said.
In Landhi, an employee at a milk shop was shot dead in an armed hold up.
Police said suspects came to the shop of Nagori milk shop and demanded cash. As employee Rafiq attempted to put up resistance, the suspects shot at him and fled. The victim was rushed the nearby hospital where he died shortly afterwards.
INJURED: A policeman along with two of his associates was shot and wounded by unknown persons at Liaquatabad flyover early Tuesday morning. Police said ASI Qamar Abbas was passing in a car along with his friends when their car was targetted.
