HYDERABAD, June 6: Expressing concern over illegal occupation of houses and plots by land-grabbers in Qasimabad taluka, District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has called upon Taluka Nazim Noor Mohammad Shoro and Naib Nazim Hyder Shahani to identify the “qabza group”.

He said that the district government with the assistance of law-enforcement agencies would eject land-grabbers from such houses and plots and restore the possession to real owners.

He was speaking at foundation stone laying ceremony of a basic health unit in Sehrish Nagar area of the Qasimabad taluka on Monday.

He said that the district government had received 59 applications against land-grabbers out of which 54 pertain to the Qasimabad taluka.

He said that the district government would not spare qabza groups regardless of their influence and clout and take strict legal action against them.

He said that during first six months of the district government, development schemes in Qasimabad taluka at a cost of Rs400 million had already been initiated. He said that within the next 10 months, new projects at a cost of Rs100 million would be initiated.

He said that Qasimabad taluka was facing two major problems, the collapse of sewerage system and the occupation of houses and plots by the land mafia.

He said that the district government was determined to deal with the two problems without any delay.

Elected representatives and officials of the district government attended the ceremony.

Kanwar Naveed Jamil said that Qasimabad taluka, specially Sehrish Nagar, were among areas of the district which had been completely neglected by previous governments as well as elected representatives of people.

He said that the government was concentrating on development of all four talukas of the district without any discrimination and added that Qasimabad taluka was on top priority.

He said that for that reason the district government had allocated a huge amount for construction of roads and laying of new sewerage and water supply lines in Qasimabad.
