KHAR, June 5: A young boy was electrocuted, while two others got injured in different incidents in the Barang tehsil, about 40km from the Bajaur Agency headquarters on Monday, witnesses said.

In the first incident in Kamal Darra village, 15-year-old Aslam and his brother Yousaf Khan were working on a transformer during a power breakdown in the area.

Suddenly, the power supply resumed, both fell to the ground. Aslam died on the spot, while Yousaf received severe injuries. He was admitted to the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Khar, where his condition is critical.

In the other incident, Lal Zamin received electric shock and suffered critical injuries when he was working on a pole in the Qambar village. He was shifted to the hospital and was later shifted to Peshawar for treatment.

The Barang tribesmen have announced a demonstration to protest against unscheduled loadshedding in the area.

A Wapda official said that they had to carry out loadshedding due to overloading on the only 66kv grid station in the agency.
