NEW DELHI, June 4: Contrary to widespread speculation, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is unlikely to visit Pakistan this summer, his National Security Adviser M.K. Narayanan said on Sunday.
“The prime minister has an invitation from President Musharraf. But he has not yet decided when he will accept the invitation. It is unlikely that it would be this summer,” Mr Narayanan told ‘Times Now’ channel in an interview.
He complained that terrorist attacks had increased in India and widened their targets beyond Kashmir, which Pakistan could do a lot more to prevent.
“I think the scale of attacks, more particularly the attacks that are taking place outside Jammu and Kashmir, has gone up very substantially,” Mr Narayanan said.
