KARACHI, June 4: Jockeys M. Nasir and M. Yousuf shone on the track with splendid double apiece in the Summer Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday. Nasir galloped mare Silent Love and chestnut colt Sindh Malook to victory while Yousuf piloted bay colts Jawan Bakht and Arab Hi Arab home in the last two back to back races.

Making amends, nine-year-old Auzy, created quite a stir when it edged out public fancy three-year-old filly, Jan-e-Mun, by head in a closely fought battle.

The third race, as expected, ended in a blaze of glory for three-year-old filly, Annaba, with Aashiq Ali in the saddle. The field was reduced to 10 after My Boy was scratched.

The KRC warning had desired results as riders of Deniro Ali Ehsan and Silver City S. Khan were fined Rs5,000 apiece for not making sufficient efforts on their mount in the same race. The former was also suspended for one month.

Both the horses belong to the same connection.

As predicted, M.R. Hussain’s three-year-old filly, Black Girl, made it two in a row when she sprinted home with ease by 11 lengths in the fifth race.

Four-year-old bay colt, Jawan Bakht, pulled off another upset when he won hands down while Arab Hi Arab lowered the colours of fancied Smiling Face to claim the concluding event.
