SUKKUR: A man and his son were shot dead while another person was wounded over an old feud between two groups in the Tangwani Town area near Kandhkot on Friday, police said.

The clash erupted between the Choliyani and Gadhi clans within the limits of the Karampur Police Station.

Officials said that armed persons, believed to be members of the Gadhi community, opened indiscriminate fire, killing Noor Hassan Choliyani and Naib Khan Choliyani. Another man, identified as Muhammad Nawaz alias Akhtiar Choliyani, was wounded in the incident.

The attackers managed to escape from the spot after the killing. The police said they rushed to the crime scene and shifted the bodies and the wounded man to a rural health centre. After completion of medico-legal formalities, they handed over the bodies to the heirs.

Police suspected that the incident had taken place due to a long-standing feud between the Choliyani and Gadhi clans.

The officials said that they had started an investigation into the incident.
