ISLAMABAD: The head of the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency is scheduled to visit Pakistan next month, where the two countries are expected to sign memorandums of understanding on immigration and narcotics control.

The upcoming visit of NCA Director General Graeme Biggar was announced during a meeting between Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, according to an official press release from the Interior Ministry.

During the visit, memorandums of understanding will be signed in the areas of immigration and counter-narcotics cooperation, the statement said.

In separate meetings, Mr Naqvi met Marriott and US Acting Ambassador Natalie Baker to discuss bilateral relations, regional security, and cooperation in combating narcotics and human trafficking.

Mr Naqvi expressed his gratitude for the recent resumption of flight operations to the United Kingdom after a five-year halt.

Both diplomats appreciated a recent anti-narcotics operation conducted by the Pakistan Navy.

Meanwhile, in his meeting with the US envoy, Ms Baker praised Pakistan’s efforts in combating terrorism and extremism and said cooperation on security and counter-terrorism will continue.
