Rehman grabs hat trick

KARACHI, June 1: Abdul Rehman snatched a brilliant hat trick as Karachi Port Trust (KPT) outclassed Pakistan Railways 4-1 in All Pakistan Anwar Bhaijan memorial football tournament at People's Stadium on Wednesday.

Clinical finishing saw Rehman putting the ball into the net in the 19th, 27th and 59th minute to complete a well deserved hat trick. Naseer Ahmed netted the other goal in the 62nd minute.

Saeed Qureshi scored the consolation goal for Railways by converting a spot kick in 73rd minute.

In the other match, HBL secured a place in the last eight round of the competition when they overcame spirited Naushki 2-1.

Shahid Saleem in the 19th minute and substitute Abdul Qayyum (37th) scored for the winners while Nasrullah pulled one back for the losers in the 42nd minutes.—Agencies
