SHEIKHUPURA, June 1: A woman, her infant son and a minor girl were killed and two others sustained serious injuries in an accident on Faisalabad-Sargodha by-pass near Dera Mi Hakan, some five kilometers from here on Thursday.

A car (LXA-6969), going to Farooqabad from Lahore, collided head-on with an oil-tanker (LSA-1165) coming from the opposite direction. As a result, Aasma Bibi (34), her son Ammar (2) and Fizza Tallat (4), the daughter of a police official driver Tallat Mehmood, died instantly, while Tallat and car driver Ehsan suffered serious injuries. They were admitted to the local DHQ Hospital. While Ehsan was shifted to Mayo Hospital, Lahore, in serious condition.

Sadar police arrested oil-tanker driver Abbas and impounded his vehicle.

Further investigation is under way.
