NOWSHEHRA, May 31: Five coal-miners were killed and three others wounded on Wednesday after an armed man stormed their camp in Jabba Khattak near Cherat hills and opened fire as they slept.
The coal-miners took out a procession, carrying the bodies of their slain colleagues and blocked the G.T. Road near the Pabbi town. The protesters dispersed after negotiation with district nazim Daud Khattak and police officials.
According to Rozi Badshah, who was injured in the incident when he grappled with the killer, Rehmat Gul, and snatched his weapon. The killer, five of the slain miners and the three injured coal-miners belong to the Alpuri area of Shangla district.
