KARACHI, May 31: Four ships carrying urea and steel coils are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active as port agencies tried to clear the inward rush of foreign flag vessels. Eight ships, Kota Merdesa, Selcon, Thor Captain, APL Dalian and Iran Kordestan to unload and load containers, Gusto, to offload general cargo, Clememtine, to unload urea and Shalamar to offload crude oil were berthed after the departure of five.

The ships, which departed included Selcon, Bunga Delima, Sea Star, Vacouver Victory and Swat, while Asdrubal, Iran Kordestan, Kota Wijaya, Al-Fatah, Hyundai Advance, Thor Captain and Shalamar are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 92,109 tons comprising 14,330 tons of export cargo and 77,779 tons of import tonnage was handled on Wednesday.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Shao Shan-1, with 34,900 tons urea, Eric G.Gibson, Orient Independence, with containers and African Sanderling, with 6,348 tons of steel coils.
