BADIN, May 30: Awami Tehrik chief Rasool Bux Palijo has demanded that the Sindh government should make public the 90 demands made by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. He said that the demands were against the interests of Sindh, adding that Sindhis would never accept them.

Addressing a rally here on Monday, he said that former rulers of the country did nothing for Sindhis and failed to safeguard basic rights of the people of the province.

He said that under the law, no foreigner could be allowed to form a political party in Pakistan and expressed surprise how MQM chief Altaf Hussain being a British citizen was leading a political party in Pakistan.

He demanded that the party should be banned.

He accused the rulers of having sabotaged democracy and creating a ‘Karbala-like situation’ by stopping the water of Sindh.

He said that about 80,000 cusecs water of Sindh was being released into rivers of Punjab and no water was released into the Indus river for Sindh.

He said that Gen Musharraf was not competent to decide water agreement as it could be decided only by the judicial commission as per the international law. Mr Palijo said that those who migrated after 1954 to Sindh were not Pakistani nationals and they should be sent back to their countries.

He said that the people of Sindh were guaranteed full autonomy under the agreement of 1940 and the rulers should honour the accord.

He said that the present set-up was illegal and unconstitutional.

People’s Party Parliamentarians MNA Dr Fehmida Mirza said that Shaheed Z.A. Bhutto had created awareness among people who were now ready to face autocratic rulers.

She said that dictatorial governments had used all their sources to keep people away from the PPP but failed.

She said that the charter of democracy signed in London would be a strong base to cover the constitution and would bring real democracy.
