KARACHI, May 30: The Chief Controller of Buildings, Karachi Building Control Authority Tuesday ordered suspension of five KBCA officials. Those suspended were Town Building Officer (Officiating) DCB Saddar Town-I, Munir Ahmed, Deputy Controller (Officiating) Mohammed Iqbal Modi, ACB (Officiating) Mansoor Alam and Building Inspector Zafar Iqbal.

They were placed under suspension in connection with construction of illegal structures on Plot No 102 and 103, Ramswami Quarters.

The CCOB also ordered suspension of ACB Design Section Mohammed Arshad on charge of dereliction from duty and carelessness.

The Controller of Building (Officiating) DCB Iqbal Hussain was given charge of TBCO Saddar Town-I.

Meanwhile, on the directive of CCOB, a KBCA team demolished illegal constructions in Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town.

The team demolished illegal partition walls on ground and first floors of Plot No A-50, Al-Hilal Cooperative Housing Society and illegal rooms on the roof of 4th floor of Plot No D-29, Shalimar Heights, Gulnab CHHS, Sector-22, Scheme-33.

In PIB Colony, Block-B, illegal shops constructed at the back of Shop No 11, Karachi Centre were also demolished.—APP
