Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz has praised the provincial government’s “readiness”, stating, “If we were not ready, then there would have been a massive loss of life.”
Speaking at an event in Sargodha, she said that the floods affected 27 cities and over 5,000 villages. She said that 2.5 million people were evacuated before water reached their settlements, who were also provided with relief.
Over 2.2m livelihoods were saved, including livestock and property, she added.
