KHUZDAR: Two people were seriously injured in a bomb explosion in the Naal area of Khuzdar district, police said on Sunday.

Officials said that miscreants planted an improvised explosive device (IED) in the bazaar and detonated it when a vehicle was passing through it.

“Two persons who sustained serious injuries in the blast were moved to Khuzdar district hospital,” the Naal assistant commissioner said, adding that the vehicle was also damaged in the explosion.

He said the IED was detonated with a remote control, but it was not yet clear who was the intended target.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the blast. Police launched an investigation.
