Two cracks have been made in the Mai Safoora bund using explosives to divert water and protect major urban centres and irrigation structures, as water flow at the Head Sidhnai in River Ravi surged to 168,000 cusecs, the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has said.
Officials from the river department, along with relevant experts, are present on the site, the authority said.
