“Climate change will occur; this is the new normal, but it is not unmanageable,” Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said.
“We must identify the gaps in our infrastructure,” he said, claiming that India has “splendid dykes and sends all its water towards us”.
Iqbal noted that Narowal was on the frontline as there were various streams coming there. He urged the prime minister to declare Narowal as a disaster-hit district so the appropriate relief could be provided to the affected people.
