PESHAWAR, May 23: Chief Executive Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) Brig Sakhi Marjan on Tuesday directed that the power supply of all government departments would be cut off if they fail to deposit their arrears by May 31.
The decision regarding it was taken in a conference of held here under the chairmanship of Chief Executive Pesco to review the performance of different circles during the month of April.
The superintendent engineers informed the chairman about the performance of their respective circles.
Superintendent Engineer Peshawar Mohammad Yar Khan said line losses had decreased by 0.1 per cent while recovery had increased by 17.1 per cent.
Superintendent Engineer Khyber Circle Fazal-e-Khaliq Khan said that line losses had decreased by 0.8 per cent and recovery remained 97 per cent.
Superintendent Engineer Hazara Circle Nazir Ahmed said line losses had increased by 2.1 per cent while recovery had increased by 17.48 per cent.
Abdur Rehman, Ssuperintendent Engineer, Swat Circle, said that line losses had reduced by 0.4 per cent while recovery remained 97.3 per cent.
Said Afzal, Superintendent Engineer, Bannu Circle, said line losses had increased by 1.0 per cent and recovery had decreased by 28 per cent during the last month.
Superintendent Engineer, Mardan Circle, Naik Mohammad, said that line losses had decreased 0.8 per cent while recovery had decreased 2.3 per cent.
The chief executive, Pesco, worried about the increase in line losses and poor recovery by a few circles only, directed that line losses be reduced and recovery be improved.
He warned that SDOs and line superintendents showing poor performance would neither be promoted nor their contract renewed.
He directed them to achieve targets that had already been fixed, adding any laxity in this regard would not be tolerated.
He directed all superintendent engineers to cut off the power supply of all defaulting government departments who fail to deposit their arrears by May 31 and it would not be restored until they paid their arrears.
He directed to take up the matter with the local administration concerned regarding recovery from Regi Lalma.
To further facilitate consumers, he directed that new connections would be installed on easy instalments.—APP
