Four killed in village clash

SHIKARPUR, May 22: Four people were killed and four others injured in an armed clash in Dilawar Marfani village of the Garhi Yasin taluka on Monday. Some armed men attacked the house of Amir alias Ameero Marfani in the village.

As a result of heavy exchange of firing which lasted for five hours, four people of both sides were killed.

The deceased were identified as Babal alias Babey Qambrani, Ali Bux Qambrani, Abdul Ghafoor Chandio and Amir alias Ameero Marfani. The injured are: Ali Nawaz Qambrani, Keeto Qambrani, Ali Sher Marfani and Shahzado Marfani.

The cause behind the clash is said to be an old enmity.

The feud started after killing of Toto Marfani by police and in retaliation Rahim Bux Qambrani was murdered by the Marfanis.

Heavy contingents of police called from district police stations rushed to the spot.

The bodies were handed over to relatives after autopsy.

One of the injured, Shahzado Marfani, was admitted to the Shikarpur civil hospital.

Other injured were taken to other hospitals.

TWO KILLED: Police killed two robbers and seriously injured the third in an encounter after they refused to surrender.

Reports said that on information that six suspicious persons had barged into the house of a rice miller Mohammad Afaq in Sukpur Mohalla, Stuart Ganj police, reinforced by heavy a contingent from city police station, rushed to the house and cordoned off the area.

Three of the robbers identified as Asif Shaikh, Sohail alias Shaka Shaikh and Imtiaz alias Kalai Shaikh were standing outside the main gate of the house to give cover to other three who were inside.
