HYDERABAD, May 22: The Qasimabad Action Committee has said that the people of Qasimabad taluka are getting step-motherly treatment from the district nazim. Speaking at a press conference at the press club on Monday, action committee leaders Abdul Sattar Siddiqui, Rasool Bux Shaikh, Moulana Azam Jehangiri and Naeem Jarwar accused the district nazim of suppressing the voice of Sindhi nazims.

They alleged that the nazim of UC-2 Qasimabad, Mehboob Abro was being victimized for raising his voice about problems of the Qasimabad taluka in the district council.

They said that some people close to the district nazim were threatening Mehboob Abro with murder and false cases.

They criticized the district nazim who they said was trying to create hatred between Sindhi and Urdu-speaking people of the city.

They warned that if any harm came to Mehboob Abro, the district nazim would be held responsible.

They said the district nazim was trying to achieve by neglecting Sindhi settlements and suppressing the voice of Sindhi nazims.

They said that they would soon convene a meeting of all political parties, religious leaders, traders, lawyers, workers and students to evolve a future strategy for launching a peaceful struggle to resolve the problems of Qasimabad.

When they were asked why elected representatives of the people of Qasimabad were maintaining silence, they claimed that they had won elections because of the support of the action committee and they were with them.

When their attention was drawn to the fact that a number of development schemes at a cost of tens of millions of rupees had been announced for Qasimabad by the district nazim, the leaders said that it was mere announcement and lip service and only patch work was being carried out on the roads.
