KARACHI, May 22: The National Assembly Standing Committee for Local Government and Rural Development has appreciated the performance of city district government of Karachi.

Led by its Chairman Hamidul Huq Haqqani, the committee members on Monday visited various development projects especially national stadium and Hasan Square flyovers, Gharibabad, Liaquatabad and Nazimabad underpasses.

Maulana Haqqani said it was a good omen that the city government was paying full attention on the reconstruction and development of the city. He said that work was going on round-the-clock under the young leadership of Mustafa Kamal.

Briefing the committee, EDO (Works and Services) Sarfraz Ali Shah said that at present work was in progress on major projects. He said that the nazim had divided work in three shifts and thus it was going on round-the-clock .—APP
