FORT WORTH (Texas), May 21: Australian Rod Pampling hung on to a share of the lead after the third round at the $6 million Colonial Championship on Saturday.
Pampling followed up Friday's 63 with a level-par round of 70 to stand 10 under with American Tim Herron.
Birdies at 11 and 15, kept Pampling well in contention and he managed to sramble a par four at the last despite a wayward drive and an excursion into a greenside bunker.
Herron, without a PGA Tour victory since 1999, birdied the par-five first and sank consecutive birdie putts at six and seven to make his move, closing with a 68.
Pampling's compatriots Nathan Green (67) and Peter Lonard (69) were a stroke off the lead along with Sweden's Richard Johnson (68).

MAIDEN TITLE FOR WEBBER
MACAU: Australian rookie Kane Webber came from three shots back overnight to lift his maiden Asian Tour title in just his second event with a final round of one-under-par 70 at the Macau Open on Sunday.
The 25-year-old shrugged off rainy conditions to finish three strokes ahead of countryman Scott Barr, who was also one under par on a final day filled with high scores.
Overnight leader Brad Kennedy crumbled on the final day as he shot 77 to finish joint third alongside South African Peter Karmis.
Webber finished with a four-day total of nine-under-par 275, taking birdies on the second and third holes but keeping his cool after struggling on the back nine when he bogeyed the 10th and 12th holes.
