KASUR, May 21: Two kidnappers were killed and three others held after a two-hour encounter at the Allahabad police station. Kasur DPO Ahmad Mobin said, on a tip-off, a team reached a petrol pump where Zafar Iqbal and his accomplices had called Nasirdin of Sadaiwall whom they kidnapped for Rs600,000 ransom five months ago. They asked Nasir to bring them another Rs100,000 and his tractor.
The armed men opened fire on the police which was returned, killing two of the culprits while three others arrested. They were identified as Manzoor, Zameer and Aas Muhammad. Another three managed to escape.— Correspondent
