ISLAMABAD: A man allegedly killed his sister ‘for honour’ in Islamabad on Thursday, police said.

According to the police, the incident took place in Shams Colony.

The girl had “eloped with a boy, whom she loved and wanted to marry about 20 days ago”. Her mother had also accompanied her.

The family later traced the girl and her mother and brought them back home on Wednesday.

They reconciled with the girl over her decision for a love marriage and agreed to marry her to the boy if he accepted their religion.

However, on Thursday, the girl’s brother brought a pistol and opened fire on her. As a result, she sustained a bullet injury and collapsed.

After receiving information, police reached the spot. The injured was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
