KARACHI, May 19: Brisk shipping activity was observed at the port where four ships to load/unload containers, diesel oil and chemicals were accommodated on berths at QICT, Fotco oil terminal and Engro Vopak terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Meanwhile three more ships carrying containers, sugar and crude oil arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy remained at 68 per cent on Thursday as a total of eight ships occupied berths to load/unload containers, seeds, carbon oil, chemicals and diesel oil.

The port handled a cargo volume of 72,901 tons, comprising 57,363 tons import cargo and 14,538 tons export cargo, including cargo carried in 1,523 containers.

Six ships sailed out during the last 24 hours.
