LAHORE, May 17: Justice Mian Mohammad Najamuz Zaman of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday issued a fresh notice to the Punjab government seeking a report on steps which it was taking to implement the Supreme Court orders of banning the flying, manufacturing and trade of kite and twine.
Proceeding in a petition, filed by advocate Mohammad Azhar, the court did not seem satisfied with the report submitted by the provincial government on deaths taking place because of throat slit with twine with the observation that the court had called for a report on implementation of the apex court orders.
The petition also sought registration of cases against the district and town nazims, the IGP and other police officers for showing negligence in implementing the SC order. —Correspondent
