KARACHI, May 17: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the port where three ships to load/unload containers, edible oil and diesel oil were allotted berths at QICT, MPT and Fotco oil terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Meanwhile three more ships with containers and diesel oil arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy remained at 67 per cent on Tuesday as a total of six ships occupied the berths to load/unload containers, rice, seeds, edible oil and diesel oil, respectively.

The port handled a cargo volume of 85,457 tons comprising 55,996 tons imports and 29,461 tons exports including cargo carried in 2,648 containers.

Two ships were expected to sail on Wednesday.
