The Palestinian Authority has said Israeli forces killed two people in the occupied West Bank, with the military saying a man attempting to carry out a knife attack against settlers was shot.
In the southern Hebron area, the Palestinian Authority (PA) said “a citizen… was killed by Israeli occupation forces near Beit Fajjar, and his body is being withheld” by Israel.
The Palestinian man, who was not named, was “running toward the community while holding a knife” before being shot by the settlement’s security guard, a statement from the Israeli military claimed, reporting no casualties on the Israeli side.
In a separate incident also in the Hebron area, the PA said 19-year-old Wadih Samamra was killed “by the occupation forces’ bullets”. There was no immediate comment from Israel.
The Palestinian health ministry also announced that 14-year-old Mohammed Khaled Hassan Mabruk died of wounds sustained by Israeli military fire on Wednesday during a raid in the northern West Bank.
