At least eight people have been injured in a suspected car ramming attack at a bus stop on a highway close to the city of Kfar Yona in central Israel, according to the national emergency service, Al Jazeera reports.

A manhunt for the perpetrator is underway, the Israeli police said in a statement, adding that the car has been located in the Beit Lid area in the Tulkarem governorate, in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli media also reported that security forces have closed crossings into the Palestinian territory, including the road leading to the city of Tulkarem.
