SAHIWAL: Fateh Sher police on Monday registered a case and arrested a woman and her daughter-in-law for allegedly throwing acid on a man in Muslim Bin Aqeel Colony on Sunday.

A case has been filed against Ayesha, wife of Shahzad, and her mother-in-law Shaheen alias Gudo, under Sections 336 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, as well as Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.

The FIR was lodged by the victim’s elder brother, Rashid Ali.

According to the complainant, victim Shah Rukh, a resident of Street No. 2, was asleep in his room, which has a window facing the street, when Ayesha, Shaheen, and an unidentified man allegedly threw acid on his face and body through the open window. He was shifted to Sahiwal teaching hospital.

The FIR states that Shaheen suspected her daughter-in-law had an alleged affair with Shah Rukh.

It further alleges that Ayesha had previously sabotaged several of Shah Rukh’s marriage proposals.

Fateh Sher police have launched an investigation.
