KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has decided to revoke the lease of over 170 “illegally converted” plots in the Orangi Township project on the directives of City Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab.

The move comes in response to allegations of “unauthorised” distribution of amenity and public plots during 2019 and 2020.

The mayor has also ordered a complete examination of all questionable allotments within the project.

The revocation process has begun, with investigations ongoing to assess the scope of infringements and misuse of authority. Cases involving unlawful allotments and abuse of power have been submitted to the Anti-Corruption Department for a comprehensive investigation.
