ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) and leading corporate players on Wednesday agreed to take steps for youth empowerment, signing a letter of intent (LOI) between PMYP and Enablers at the Prime Minister’s Office.

While strategic partnership was formalised to collaborate across the 4Es framework–Education, Employment, Engagement, and Environment–striving to expand youth-focused opportunities throughout the country.

Under this partnership, Enablers will support skill development programmes, offer job placement, internship opportunities, and contribute actively to the PM’s Digital Youth Hub (DYH), a centralised platform to empower Pakistani youth.

Joint initiatives discussed in the meeting include the Young Entrepreneur Festival, which will provide young innovators a national platform to present their business ideas and interact with industry leaders. The collaboration will also promote women’s empowerment through scholarships, mentorships, and leadership-building initiatives, especially targeting barriers to inclusion.

Both sides agreed on shared branding for activities and a coordinated social media campaign to promote PMYP programs, DYH, and youth empowerment resources throughout the country.

Meanwhile, at another high-level meeting to review progress on the upcoming National Youth Games, convened at the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC). The National Youth Games—organised by PMYP in collaboration with the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and with IPC’s support– are scheduled for September 2025. The event will involve over 15 sports disciplines for youth aged 14 to 17, and is being held at a national scale for the first time.

This follow-up meeting focused on reviewing implementation progress, including athlete selection procedures, structure of regional qualifiers, venue readiness, and inter-agency coordination.
