DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two people were killed and 15 others injured when a passenger van collided with another van loaded with wheat on Multan Road here on Saturday.

According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Aizaz Mahmood, emergency teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the alert. Under the directives of district emergency officer Eng Fasihullah, a swift rescue operation was launched. One of the deceased was identified as Saeed Ahmed, while the identity of the second deceased person remains unknown.

The injured victims were identified as Ashraf, Rashid, Ghulam Shabir, Tasawar, another Ashraf, Rasheed Bibi, Abdul Sattar, Mohammad Azhar, Nouman, Allah Nawaz, Ajmal, Sawab Khan and his daughter, Gul Mina Bibi, and Naseem Bibi.

Rescue teams provided on-site first aid and shifted all the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital, where medical treatment is ongoing. Timely intervention by Rescue 1122 saved many precious lives.

SHOT DEAD: A 17-year-old boy was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Band Kurai area on Saturday, police confirmed.

According to a police official, a complainant, Mohammad Iqbal, filed a report at Band Kurai police station stating that he was asleep when his cousin, Mohammad Saraf, called him to inform that his son, Mohammad Bilal (17), had been shot dead by unknown persons.

He said the body was found in the land owned by Mohammad Ali Muhajir in Band Kurai.

The complainant stated they had no known enmity with anyone.

The police have registered a case under Section 302 of Pakistan Penal Code and begun investigations. Efforts to identify and arrest the perpetrators are ongoing.
