LAHORE, May 12: Police informed an anti-terrorism court on Friday that they had arrested PML-N MNA Khwaja Saad Rafiq in another case of terrorism registered by the Lohari Gate police in 2003.

The court was proceeding on a bail application of the MNA.

According to his counsel Rana Mashhood, the arrest was made in a ‘serious’ offence of firing on police during an anti-government demonstration near the Muslim Masjid. He was also charged with inciting the people to damage public and private property.

The court fixed the hearing of the bail application for Saturday in one case and May 15 in the other offence.

Saad Rafiq was produced in the court amid tight security from the Camp Jail, Lahore, where he has been lodged since his arrest on February 14 for his involvement in the terrorism activities during demonstrations against blasphemous caricatures. —Correspondent
